Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Peak Medical and Rescue Limited
For the Financial Year Ending 11 September 2024
This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1), Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines the steps taken by Peak Medical and Rescue Limited to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains during the financial year.
Our Organisation
Peak Medical and Rescue Limited is based entirely in the United Kingdom. We specialise in event medical and rescue services, delivering support to endurance events, public gatherings, and outdoor races. Our operations rely on skilled freelance paramedics, EMTs, and first responders.
Because we operate exclusively in the UK, we are able to monitor our activities closely. We also maintain direct working relationships with our contractors and suppliers, which helps reduce risk.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include:
- Medical and rescue equipment suppliers
- IT and software service providers
- Marketing and communications agencies
- Independent healthcare professionals
While our supply chain is relatively short and straightforward, we still assess it regularly to ensure compliance with our ethical standards.
Internal Policies
To support ethical business practices, we have implemented several internal policies:
- Recruitment and Selection Policy – Promotes fairness in hiring and ensures transparent compensation processes.
- Staff Code of Conduct – Encourages ethical behaviour, prohibits discrimination, and provides guidance on reporting concerns.
- Safeguarding Policy – Ensures protection for vulnerable people and includes clear steps for reporting suspected abuse.
- Whistleblowing Policy – Provides a confidential way for staff to report any unethical or illegal activity.
Together, these policies form a strong foundation for our commitment to human rights.
Our Commitment to Ethical Practices
We are committed to preventing any form of modern slavery. Therefore, we:
- Work only with trusted suppliers and contractors
- Conduct background checks where appropriate
- Encourage openness and accountability within our team
Moreover, we expect our partners to uphold the same high standards. Any supplier found to violate ethical labour practices may be removed from our network.
Training and Awareness
Although our organisation is small, we recognise the importance of education. Staff involved in recruitment and procurement receive guidance on identifying and reporting exploitation. As a result, we are better prepared to prevent abuse.
We also raise awareness internally, so our people understand the signs of modern slavery and how to act responsibly.
Looking Ahead
In the next year, we will:
- Develop a formal Supplier Code of Conduct
- Review and improve our reporting procedures
- Continue assessing our policies to ensure they meet legal and ethical expectations
Through these actions, we aim to further strengthen our ability to prevent exploitation in all forms.
